Car shaking, have some quesitons
Hello new here,
I just bought a used 99 Accord V6 and recently got some new tires, which included rotation and balance. However, the car still shakes at 60mph and up. It also shakes when I step on the brakes. So, I know it probably needs rotors or resurfacing because of the shaking when braking. The alignment seems a little off but I tested for a radial pull and it's the same. I don't think the engine mount is bad. I opened the hood and accelerated in park and the engine doesn't shake, at least it looks normal.
What else would cause the car to shake at 60 mph and up? Anything else I can loo for? Thanks in advance for any info.

Get it aligned and the rotors looked at and get back to us. If it was the mounts it would shake while it was idle as well.
the alignment being off will not cause car to shake .. ( tire wear, car pulling,, yes ) .. chk the balance again, chk for worn frt suspension components, ( tie rods ( inner+ outers, ) ball joints etc etc...
A bad alignment will cause the car to shake at high speeds. He just said he got new tires and they were balanced. The shaking while braking could be the rotors, but that wouldn't explain the shaking at 60mph+. Can you hear any noise coming from the rotors?
I do hear noises when braking..that's about it. I KNOW I need new brakes and possibly rotors..which explains the shaking when applying the brakes but I don't know about the shaking over 60. It was pretty bad before I got the new tires too. Would cv joints/axles cause shaking?
Could be some worn out Ft suspension parts. I'de get under there and check it out. It's always good to follow up new tires and balancing with an alignment though. When I had a bad cv joint in my 6g coupe, I could hear it popping when I turned really hard to the left.

Ok ,, since you did not get it the first time ,, let me repeat it again , in plain English..
A car out of alignment , WILL NOT cause a car to shake,,
a car out of alignment WILL cause tire wear and a car to pull
if a car shakes at high speed .. possible causes ,, bad tires, bent rims, out of balance, worn suspension parts ..
a shake when braking , possible causes,, warped frt or rear rotors ( drums ) , worn frt suspension parts ..

I'm not going to argue. I know my steering wheel was shaking slightly. I know I took it to the dealership. I know they gave it an alignment. And I know when I got it back it didn't shake anymore. I guess it was a coincidence. Weird. I'm not saying it is what is wrong with your car, but anytime you get new tires put on you should get it aligned. But what do I know, I'm just a collision repair student.
dude honda masters right, ailgnment no matter at what speed is going to cause a steering wheel to shake. just because you get new tires doesnt mean you HAVE to get an alignment a good shop will recommend it if they see alignment wear, and trust me i have been a tire tech before.
