Default D15Z1 header on a D16Z6

I'm looking to replace my d16z6 header because it is cracked and sounds really ricey. I want to use my d15z1 header because its still in good shape (has a gutted cat though) and its just lying around since I swapped out my old z1 for my z6. But what I'm worrying is that will the z1 header make my d16 loose power? Also I am still running my stock vx exhaust w/ no cat (because of the z6 header).

Why not just bolt it up and find out? It won't hurt anything...

You will DEFINITELY lose power if yo run a D15Z1 manifold and cat. The D15Z1 uses a close-coupled cat, which is the WORST design possible when it comes to producing power. Close coupled cats were designed with only two things in mind - low cost and low start-up emissions.

The Z1 ports and exhaust diameter are much smaller than the Z6.

Thats what I was guessing... But it would still be ok to have it on there to help quiet it down for the mean while, until I can find an aftermarket header/another z6/y8 header? And how much power would I be loosing, would it be a noticable enough amount while driving?
