Default Camera Mount Recommendations - Considering a cruisecam

Well, I'm getting a video camera for christmas and I'm looking for different ways to mount it. I'm considering just getting the cruisecam setup and attaching it to the passenger headrest. I wanted to find out if anyone had any suggestions for other methods/products or any feedback on the cruisecam.

The cruisecam is cheap enough that I'm not really considering making my own mount unless I can make something superior to the cruisecam.

The camera has image stabilization, but I'd still like as stable a mounting point as possible.

how heavy is the camera?

im using a ChaseCam 3 cup suction cup mount with my little Canon SD400 digi cam. i've mounted it just about everywhere on my car without problems. about 17 autox events and a rallyx event(went thru hell there lol) and it's held up without problem.

Its a little panasonic minidv. Weight with a tape should be just over 1lb.

I like this one : http://soloperformance.com/Sho....aspx

Looks like the cruisecam that I was looking into : http://www.cruisecam.com/mounts.html

My only concern with a suction cup mount is if I could get a good viewing angle. Don't want my helmet or instructors obscuring things.

Good looking vids. I think I might have to go with something that I can get closer to the center of the car. I do hpde events so if I strap the camera to the outside of the window, it might not be there at the end of the session
