What are your plans for your car? Drag, Show, Auto-X, HPDE etc...

Edit - you still need to include more info.

For you, the best would be to leave everything alone, as it will be much more reliable.

If you do your research and know what you are doing, well, this thread wouldn't exist, and you would know which motor you want.

put a B18c1.

I had a 1992 Integra GS-R with the B17 (160hp), it was ok. I then swapped in a JDM B16 XSi (170hp), it was a little better top end. Then I just recently swapped in a USDM B18c1 with a B16 tranny, and OMFG!!!! that thing was quick, had TQ, and was damn fast and fun for a daily driven street car!!!! Hands down the best and cheapest swap for some amazing performance.

I'm biased towards B20's.

I swapped in a jdm b18c earlier this year, and it made a huge difference compared to the LS. I have CTR cams now and waiting for a tune. I would HIGHLY suggest a b16 tranny with what ever engine you do pick. The LS tranny will be the downfall of any engine choice no matter if boosted or all motor.

How does the B16 tranny compare to the YS1 GSR tranny, I have the YS1 and am planning either a b20 or b18c swap.

b16 tranny has really short gears so you go threw them pretty fast.my friend had a built gsr with a b16 cable tranny on it in an ef and holy **** was it fast.when you would shift while raceing his rpm's would only drop from somewhere from 1500 to 2500,great investment
