HELP please someone.
I posted yesterday but nobody replied today i have pictures so maybe someone can help me. I have a 95 honda civic with a 2000 civic si motor in it. Not sure of which engine 1.6 is all i know. Now this pump is what is in the car that matches the motor. but in a 95 civic it has two lines to the pump and this one seems to have some sorta plug in it. Can i take the plug out and put a spout there for the other hose or what should i do? i dont have 250$ to buy a new rack and lines.. please anyone help me.. if needed i can take pics of the lines im talking about inside the car..

Seriously learn how to quote and actually help the guy.
If I knew anything about the B motors I would...
Or the difference of Powersteering pumps.
Good luck!

I'm like 90% sure you can bolt the pump that's for the car to your B16A2 ('99/'00 Si motor) with a DOHC Civic Del Sol or '99/'00 Civic Si power steering bracket and use the stock lines/rack, etc.
I could be wrong though, but I'm pretty sure you can just bolt the '95 pump up to the B series motor using a B series bracket.

ok im not sure what i was thinking i think i know what the plug is. but im still lost i worked on civics in high school and they were like the 90-97 hondas and this has got me stumped. the kid i bought it from has me all confused on the engines. ok heres the other pics with everything confusin circled
ok so here's what i got.. the green circled hose runs back to the res. then back to the engine and the yellow circled hose is the one that sprays the fluid all over the place and i have the line that it follows. now there is and extra line you can see and nothing is running from or to it. it's under the res. (well kinda under it). so which hose goes where? and does it need the res? im still all lost on all the hoses. i dont have a picture of the old pump b/c the kid didn't have it.

and here's another question.. can anyone with a 95 ex model post pics of the p/s all hooked up and then the 00' all hooked up? maybe i can figure out whats missing then..

well that is not a 00 si engine sorry to tell you the stamp which tells you what engine it is right under the radiator hose next to the headers right at the bottom, that engine is probably a d16y8 or d16y7
wow...
upon further review...it looks like a y7 with a z6 intake mani. look at the stamp on the front of the block...it's underneath the upper radiator hose....it's say "D16Yx" (x determining what block it is). i say it's a y7 because i don't see a vtec solenoid. if there is no vtec solenoid, you have a D16Y7...which is a civic dx engine.
to answer your question, there is no difference between eg/ek...or civic/integra/accord/whatever power steering setups. it's all the same...mounting points are the only difference. the overall "flow" is the same though.

the red circle is the high pressure side. the pump "pumps" fluid down to the rack from there. the "mustard" color runs in front of the car...that's for the cooler. if you look through your lower grill you'll see a metal loop that comes/goes from the driver side...that's the cooler. you've got the blue all confused...those are all either return/cooler lines. the big thick hose that has the clamp circled in green...that's the feed.

you have everything circled correctly to where it's supposed to go. the 2 bolts hold the high side down...since it's pressurized!

forget about that plug...don't mess with it.

i had a feeling it wasn't once i drove it. once i determine what engine it is can i tell what yr it is? oh yeah and do i have to use the honda P/s fluid or can i buy a diff brand. eveyone keeps telling me i HAVE to run honda fluid
in total for the car i paid $1,560. its the D16y7 engine. now how do i know what yr. the body i think is the 95 civic ex. at least thats again what he told me... I got the power steering hooked up.Whoo.. and all my neibor were out there amazed..lol it was great.. i guess around here they aren't use to a chick working on a car.lol. anyway power steering works and who cars about a/c ill worry about that when summer comes. anyway thanks for the help you guys could give me. it's nice to know what engine i have.lol. but still need to know if it's the original or if theres any other place to look for more info on it.
That is not the original engine. It is an OBDII engine from some 96-00 Civic, the location of the oil dipstick alone gives it away. If it was an Si motor, it would have a black valve cover and would have "B16A2" stamped on the block. Sorry you were lied to.
does your car have a moonroof? if so, i'm pretty sure its and ex, and the ex came with sohc vtec motors, if i'm not mistaken. from the looks of the pic, it looks like a sohc non-vtec motor. my conclusion: he swapped motors...

Yes, use Honda Power Steering fluid only. If you use any other Power Steering fluid you will see why they say not to use it. The pump might give out on you, I know from experience.

yeah he swaped them just wasn't sure what he swaped it with. lol i didn't think it was vtech at all after driving it home. also can anyone tell me the specs on the D16y7 engine?
1992-1995
Civic DX/LX had the D15B7 Engine *Has a little honda logo on the valve cover and says 16 valve*
Civic EX/SI had the D16Z6 Engine *Has a little Honda logo and says honda on it*
1996-2000
Civic CX/DX/LX had the D16Y7 motor *Appears to be what was put in your car*
Civic EX had the D16Y8 which looks very similar except has a Vtec Solenoid mounted on the rear of the head toward the passenger side of the fuel rail.
Civic SI had the B16A2? I think TWINCAM
looks completely diffrent.
I can tell by looking at the setup, you have a D16Y7 head, and the OBD1 intake manifold, fuel rail, and FPR off a 92-95 Civic
It also appears as the wiring on the dizzy was butchered so the car probably is still running the stock D15B7 ECU *Which is not a good thing*
