Default bad shocks/springs.. what to buy new?

I have a 1996 accord.. My shocks/springs are worn out. I need new ones.. and I would like to "slightly" lower my car. There is just a little too much space between my tire and wheel well. (sp?) What should I buy? Im not even sure how much to lower? Obviously I dont know a lot of what Im talking about. Any help would be appreciated.

How low do you want it? Do you want to eliminate the gap entirely? Do you want just a little bit of gap?

These things can help us give suggestions.

What is "worn out" about them? What sort of problems are they giving you?

Or are you just subconsciously attempting to justify buying new parts?

Totally serious.
