Default New to this!

I just got a 97 GS with 86,000 miles on it. Instead of buying taillights or rims like most of my friends did with their cars, im looking at springs as my first investment. Do you think this is smart or should i go with intake first? I am only 19 and I go back to school in a week, so right now I am very poor. I have about $300. Also, can I jsut buy springs or do I have to get shocks/struts as well when lowering? What brand do you guys recommend for street driving? Thanks in advance for your help.

Save up for more then buy both shocks and springs. Koni Yellows with Neuspeeds. Buying just springs and using stock shocks will blow your shocks faster... its pretty much the same concept as cutting your springs like most people did back in the day. Bouncy, lowered rides...but I don't know you remember any of that

I would save up for a little bit until you can get enough money for springs + shocks combo. I have a couple of friends that ride on springs with stock shocks. It's not that bad of a ride but It'll be better if they would have went aftermarket shocks too.

Thanks for the input. I'm sure I will have many more questions as I begin to dump all of my money into my new love.

i say you spend about $75 on a used cold air intake. besides my header, my $50 used aem cold air was my best gain for the dollar.( On the butt dyno of coarse!)

If all goes well, I will be selling my system from my old p.o.s (which is sitting in my room right now) the system not the car. If this happens, it will be christmas for me and I will be able to start modding right away. Thanks again.
