Default noob questions

I got a 91 teg GS and I was wondering if I put a vtec head on my block would that make it vtec? or do I need a b18c1 motor for that?

Its more involved than just swapping the head, but it is possible. Search LS/VTEC and see what comes up...

buy a b18c1 swap and call it a day

if you want to throw a vtec head on a non-vtec block be prepared to pay to do it right...if you cheap out then expect a rebuild down the line

You can put a vtec head on it but the bottom end wont last that long soo its going to be in your best bet buy LS block build it, throw vtec head on it then less down time for your car. Tac town huh? Im from issaquah feel free to hit me up if ya got any questions=P

So Ive been reading up on the LS/VTEC and I think ill give it a go in a couple months. The downtime isnt a major issue because I got a beater car I can drive during the time. Im starting to set some serious goals for my car. I think in the end ill have a VTEC Turbo beast!!

I wouldnt get ahead of yourself, but with careful research, planning and budgeting, it shouldnt be too hard of a goal to accomplish...if you know what you're doing.
