Default valve adjustment on b18b

I was trying to do the valve adjustment on my b18b but the lock nuts seem to not tighten or loosen. am i doing something wrong here cuz i put a flathead on top of it.... or is there a special tool that i have to get to tighten or loosen i was using a regular metric wrench.

are you using a 10 or 12mm to loosen the nuts first? then using a flathead to do the adjustments?

On a non-vtec no special tool is needed. Simply crack the 12mm nut loose with a rachet and then go from there.
