In need of some transmission internals
My car has been down for over two months now, due to a failure of my input shaft bearing. A majority of parts on the input shaft were taken out in the destruction. Since then, I have purchased new bearings and seals, but have yet to find the replacement gears and synchro assemblies needed to get my car on the road again. I havn't had any luck in the "for sale/wanted" thread, so I am hoping this will create more visibility.
Since the cost of gears & synchro assemblies is outragous (~$200 per), I am looking for second hand parts from people who have rebuilt their transaxles sometime in the past.
I am on a limited budget due to not working and school, so if you are willing to sell me what I need at a reasonable price, please contact me.
What I need:
3rd gear on input shaft - #3 in drawing
4th gear on input shaft - #5 in drawing
3/4 synchro sleeve - #9 in drawing

Thanks for looking,
Marshall

Brad,
Yes everything went together well. I've had the car back on the road now since January.
Jonathan,
From our conversation, I'm guessing the same bearing failed on your gearbox. It appears to be a (somewhat) common occurance, and probably doesn't help that both our enines are producing 20% more torque and revving higher.
I would have your mechanic look over all the other bearings in the system, I had some questionable ones that I replaced just because. They are reasonably priced through Honda/Acura.
Thanks to everybody who helped me last year, definately saved me from forking out more money!
