I have a 94 acura integra with an ls nonvtec motor. its tubocharged and made 302 hp. Idk which one i should go with. I just resently blew my ls tranny and dont know if i should go with another or just get a gsr now. Im not realy worried about the gas milage, I just want somthing thats gunna be fast and reliable so i dont have to worry about it breaking again. lmk what you guys think..
Thx
Thx
The GSR transmission isn't necessarily stronger, it just has better gearing.
How did your LS trans break to begin with? Abuse will kill any transmission, but if yours simply wasn't maintained by the previous owner, I can see why it died.
It all depends on what you really want. If you liked the gearing in the LS transmission, then get another one. If you want closer/shorter gearing, go get a rebuild or fresh GSR trans. In either case, make sure there's NO GRINDS and it shifts smooth.

The case had a crack in it and i ddint know, eventualy it ran dry with out knowing and blew it that way. Witch tranny do you think will be faster? or is it all on the way you look at it?

Again, it depends on what you're doing with the car. The LS tranny is a monster on the top end, especially if you've got the power to pull your car to high speeds.
The GSR transmission is considered "faster" - the shorter gearing is going to get you up to speed quicker.
Many, many boosted cars run the GSR trans, and are competitive cars.

LS tranny for boost
GSR/B16 tranny for N/A
for boost u want longer gears so u get the most out of ur boost
for N/A you want the GSR/b16 tranny because the gearing is shorter, ull get quicker acceleration and thats what u want from a all motor N/A.

Wrong.

B16 and GSR trannies arent for boost only. It really depends on tires/suspension setup IMO.
Shorter gearing equals faster acceleration. Period.
However, many people throw a B16 tranny on a boosted setup and spin thru 3rd or 4th gear and say its ****. They get an LS tranny and say its faster. Well no ****, now you have traction because youre accelerating SLOWER.
A friend of mine, and an HT member, has a 415 whp EG with an ITR tranny and a 4.9 final. He also has really good/sticky tires. He doesnt spin in 2nd or 3rd. He accelerates faster than a guy with an idenical setup with an LS tranny.
Get a good/short geared tranny (XSi with an LSD, GSR with an LSD etc) and dont cheap out on tires.
