No, the 88 Dx hatch is a ODB0 harness, a D16z6 is a OBD1 harness, and a D16y8 is a OBD2a or OBD2b harness.

All have different ECU's and harness's.
You should get the D16z6 motor and buy a step-up harness (OBD0 to OBD1) and convert your DPFI to MPFI (dual point fuel injection, Multi port fuel injection).

The D16z6 has a different dizzy (distributor) and bolt patten as the y8 and your stock motor.

So your Stock dizzy will only work with the D16y8 but you still wont use it since u need the D16y8 dizzy for vtec.

If you go with the D16z6 you need to use the D16z6 dizzy or only use two bolts and bolt your dizzy on there.

BTW: you dont need to make new topics for every question. Just keep it in one topic.

So all in all, i'd go with the d16z6 motor, buy all the parts for the DPFI to MPFI swap, then swap in the d16z6 motor and get a step-up harness (OBD0 to OBD1) and get a P28 ECU and your set

i havent learned about the obd's.
please describe what each one is for and what is it compatible with?
also shouldnt the z6 or y8 harness have the proper wiring for the mpfi or does it still have to be modified (rewired)

so if i get a d16z6 get the distributor for a d16 or do i say a d16z6?
same thing for a y8?

once i get eerything i dont have to rewire anythign right?

and get the ecu for the z6 or y8, as well as the wire harness?

the axles dont need to be changed right?

fits with stock mounts?

when im looking to buy those things should i say for a d16 or should i say for the year of the motor i got?
