Default sound from the back

ive noticed that there is some squeaking/cracking sound from the rear of the car when im driving. its been happening not long after delivery of my car, but soon disappeared. it started to make the sound again. it sounds as if the glass is squeaking or something. something like the second before an ice cube starts to crack. the noise is more noticeable when on a more bumpy road (not hothole-bumpy). anyone heard this before? is it the rear glass or the interior trim loose? i havent had the chance to take the car back to the dealer. i need to leave there for few days for them to inspect the squeaking noise when opening/closing the sunroof and also fix the hfp kit.

ive got all kinda of noises. theres one in the right front fender area. and the sunroof is all ways making cracking noises. you have to remind yourself that your driving a civic. i get complaints from aveo and cobalt drivers about road noises and such but they dont relized they are driving the base model of all models. its hard to explain. ive basiclly gotten over the creeks and i dont even hear them anymore.

that doesnt mean that you dont have a real problem. theres no way to know unless you take it to a dealer. schedule an appointment with all of your concerns and dont just walk in. if they know ahead of time what they're dealing with then they can spend more time on it, instead of just getting it in and out the door. techs hate noise complaint cause they usually lose money on them. so give your best explination to the advisor to what it sounds like and when it happens.

i know what you are saying that this is only a civic, but it doesnt matter what level of a car it is. no matter if it is a high, mid, or low end vehicle, if it wasnt supposed to make sound, then its not supposed to. if that was everyones thinking that a low end vehicle doesnt need to be perfect, then car makers can just ignore industry sandards/regulations when manufacturing low end vehicles. just my $0.02...

as exhaust_note said it does matter that it is a civic. As nice of a car as the civic is, these lower end type of vehicles tend to have more "noises". I worked for GM Roadside and people would complain that their cavalier made noises and we just had to tell them, yeah that is expected with that kind of car.

If you want an uber quiet solid vehicle, you may want to look into more of a luxery vehicle.

If you're getting rattling from the exhaust or from interior parts, take it in. If you're just hearing the exhaust itself, or road noise, teh best you can do is get some more soundproofing in the car, like Dynamat. But that's expensive and adds a lot of weight.
