Default Question regarding knocking noise

I have a 92 Integra GSR, B18B, Injen intake, DC sports header, full exhaust.......

Question is....

What can cause a knocking noise above 3500RPMs? I was just driving along on the freeway and I could hear something knocking and couldn't tell what it was.......Pulled off the freeway and started driving normal and anytime I accelerate it would knock above 3500. It's not overheating or anything.....just started knocking and I was wondering if anyone has had this happen before or if anyone knows what it could possibly be... Ijust picked the car up to make it through the winter and now this early in the winter it's already acting up.....HELPPPPPP...Thanks.

EDIT:Knocking sounds like ticking and it seems like the car has no power

Have you checked the valve adjustment?
A bad lost motion assembly could also make noise. Does the noise quit when the VTEC engages? Are there any CELs?

What exactly does a bad LMA sound like?

DOH! You said GSR and then B18B. Check the valve adjustment and inspect the valve springs.

They tick because the center rocker arm is flopping around.

You simply need to remove the valve cover to check the valve adjustment. This is a valve adjustment for a B18C. Your B18B is similar, but easier.

Is the knocking constant above 3500 RPM or does it go away? If so, when?

Rod bearings and preignition can cause knocking noises.

So the knocking noise ended up being a Rod.......I spun a bearing somehow and the cylinder wasn't getting oil and I blew a baseball sized hole through the block.........This really sucks considering My 3000gt was just stolen and now I buy a car to get me by and blow the ******* engine......Anyone have a CHEAP engine that will bolt up to a B Series tranny without trouble with semi low miles.....I have hardly any cash but maybe someone will hook me up....
