Some of the low end aftermarket speakers fit right in, but if you upgrade to something nicer it usually has a bigger basket and/or magnet and you would have to modify the stock baffle or remove it completely. I made a ring out of MDF to replace mine and all is good

Yes the actual hole the speaker sits in, just like the hole in sqsi pix, that the blue/silver speaker wire is coming out of, that is the speakers mounting hole, what is the diameter of the one in your "JDM" speaker housing, or do you have the Gatheres dual speaker brackets?

Ok, so you have the JDM rear speaker pods for your EG6... but they are NOT the Gathers dual speakers right?
I'm pretty certain a 5 1/4" will fit, or a small 6 1/2".
