crank swap question?
i have done some surching and havent realy found much info so i hope some one can help. i have a b16a sitting in the shop with a spun rod bearing and im am going to build this for my 96 ek. i was wandering if i could use a gsr crank and rods in this block? an if i can do i need to notch the block or do any kind of modification to make it work?
The only crank you could swap into the b16a block is a 92-93 integra gsr crank... thats the b17 but ud still need to do some customizing and **** cuz the b16 is noticeably shorter than a b18 so a newer gsr crank would sit up to high... im a d series dude but i've had my hands on plenty b series builds an this issue comes around a lot cuz b16 blocks are so readily available around here so everyones tryna build'm an using b18 parts is limited.... so my answer to u is no u cant use the gsr crank without doing a lotta custom work like rods, wrist pin location reset, possibly even custom pistons too....
