Default Removing Dent from Mugen Exhaust Resonator?

Hey guys what's up.

I got my Mugen twin loop a few months ago, and there was a fat dent on the resonator. However, couldn't pass up on the opportunity for this exhaust because the person I knew gave it to me for damm cheap.
Lets just say that what i paid for it was less than what people pay for a new Comptech intake with the ice box.

Anyways, the dent is not so bad that it will drastically affect exhaust flow.

I called up this place locally and asked if it's possible to remove that dent. The person said "yes." But said they'd need to see it to give me a price.

The only method/theory i've heard is this guy i used to know. Basically said, "Drill something into it and try to pull it out."
Bad thing is i dunno what i'd drill, and end up makin it more complicated b/c i'd have to weld that hole.

Here's a pic. to clarify where the actual dent is on the resonator:

The dent is there because this was an imported part directly from japan on a jdm itr.

So any ideas or people that have ACTUALLY gotten it out?

Thanks

You may want to consider replacing the entire resonator with one that offers more ground clearance.

So, basically you're saying to have them cut off that resonator and put another one?

If that's the case, i guess my option is to get a custom pipe made that's 2.5" with a resonator that will bolt up to the mugen muffler?

Yes.

That's not really necessary. You can just have the new resonator installed on the existing piping.

Ya, but then again, i can sell the Mugen exhaust piping for extra cash.

And have them assemble a 2.5" piping with resonator for me.
The mugen piping is only 2.4".

Doesnt look like that dent would interfere with resonator operation, i'd leave it like that, nobody is gonna see it under your car anyways.

Understandable. I have no problem with the resonator in the sense as looks. I'm always about function over looks.

However, when it comes to selling, having an immaculate product is always key to a great sale.

Therefore, I'd like to put this for sale, but looking for a way to pop those stupid dents out. I've noticed though that the resonator on the Mugen exhaust is pretty big, and it has ground clearing problems...
Then again, I'm assuming that if the car stays at stock height or is dropped just a bit, then there'd be no problem...
Otherwise, clearance becomes an issue...

Well you're not going to be able to make a dent just vanish, even if you pull it, you'll have visible creases where it bent.

Ya, but as a buyer, would you rather have the pipe as you see it on the pic. dented?
Or would you rather have it with (as you put it) "visible creases?"

I'd choose the 2nd option, but that's just me.
