car revs up to 5k by itself after swap
FIXED...IT WAS THE INTAKE MAIFOLD GASKET
i have a 94 ex that had a d16 in it ran fine , got a rod knock , so i just finished putting a d15 in using same harness at d16 , all i did was witch over throttle bodys . first time i stared uo it went right up to 4k just stayed htere, now today i added more fluids n stuff , still does it goes up to 4k rpms then goes to 5k all by its self. i checks for vacumm leak only thhing i can think about is intake manifold gasket, even it i plug up the 2 hols on throttle body its still high, also would like to know the firing order , im still using d16 ecu wiring and dizzy

2nd that. check the iacv. if theres a leak there, the motor will rev up.

Pull off the brake booster line & plug the nipple, then the PCV tube & plug that nipple. It would be my guess that one of the two are shot & leaking lots of air.
One thing to try is to get a can of CO2 or something like ether. Spray it around possible problem areas, and if it revs more or slows, thats the problem spot.

I had this happen to a d15b swapped crx of mine. Though mine was only revving to like 2 or 3k. I know this isn't an ideal solution but what I did was just disconnect the TPS sensor. After I did that it stopped. You could try that, then if it stops you have at least found your problem. Then just go purchase a new sensor.
