Timing, Timing, Timing..........
So I was going to get my tune today and before we got on the dyno my tuner checked my timing by my crank pulley and it was a little off. So I go back to my house to fix it, first I loosen up the tensioner then I slide the belt off, line everything up properly and when I got to rotate the crank pulley the belt will literaly jump a tooth and my timing will be all messed up again. I have adjustable cam gears and the head was milled by the previous owner. Could this be why it doesnt want to go on properly? Do I have to advance/retard the timing on the cam gears slightly???
Aftermarket cam gears are hard to manually time with period. You're using the white mark on the pulley, right? And you do have both the upper and lower plastic "covers" with the "arrows" to help with timing?
Yeah. If your heads milled, you gears need to be adjusted and it also depends on what cams you're running. My idle and timing was all fucked up when I tuned my car. Pro 1 cams, skunk2 gears, head milled .020. It was not easy. I don't know **** about degreeing cams sorry. How much is the head milled? What cams are you running?
