Lake Stevens area: Be alert (theft)
I woke up at 3am with a bad feeling and looked outside to see the rear hatch and my door open. The car is completely stock, not a thing done to it but that doesn't really mean much. My tool set is gone, but that is my fault for leaving it in my car. Luckily they didn't steal the 2 iPods, the GPS, or the $300 helmet that was in there.
It makes sense, when I pulled up to the house last night a stock-looking, light-colored 1996-2000 Civic with a wannabe thuggish white dude driving parked down the street for a second and then idled by a minute later, looking really suspicious. I should have known that he was casing my car. Hopefully he gets some good use out of my tools, with any luck he will install something wrong with my tools and his car will end up as a fireball someday.
Just wanted to warn you guys.

No, I didn't get the license plate. Usually I am really quick to take care of things like that but since I left California in March I have gotten sloppy about things.
Guess I just lost some of my normal paranoia.
I'd like to just park my car somewhere on a back road out there in that area and set up a thief but it's no use. It's not like I live in Oklahoma where I can shoot him with a crossbow to hold him down until the police arrive.
As for it being someone I know, I actually don't know anybody up here except my family and a few mostly older coworkers (dog training place). The guy in the Civic seemed to have followed me from Highway 9.
I guess the only thing I can hope for is that the thief gets caught next time. Hopefully then the victim of theft will be pissed and smash his entire face in with a huge wrench, a floor jack, or something.

as a matter of fact, most "people" don't realize that some serious diseases are airborne and such including being inside a car.
