I am throwing code 6
Like the topic says i am throwing code 6. i have bought all new sensors and check the harness does anyone have a idea of wat else it could cause it to go off. Please help
Code 6 is an OBD1 code for engine coolant temp sensor. By definition the code is caused by:
1. Low engine coolant level
2. Bad ECT sensor
3. Wiring from ECT sensor to ECU
4. Worst case bad ECU if all others are good and still throws code (unlikely though)
You do drive a 99-00 Civic Si, right?
You REALLY need to hook up an OBD2 scan tool and get the actual P code (the actual OBD2 trouble code) and see what it is.
You can use the jumper method and read the flashing code on an OBD2 car, but it's not nearly as exact as an OBD2 scan tool reading. A lot of codes that the OBD2 scan tool reads out cannot directly translate into an OBD1 code.
