show off your drop on your car.
i am at the point were im trying to decide how far i want/can go with coilovers. i hav a 97 ex, problem 1 is i hav 17'' with 45profile tires..so just a tad bit of rubage. if anybody has any advice help, but the main thing is to show off your drop so i can get a idea. remember to give estimated inches too. Thanks guys.!
slam it as far as you can, if it rubs a little while turning thats okay, if it looks goofy, just get smaller tires, or maybe some nice 15"s
See, meanwhile I'm more concerned about keeping my car from destroying itself. Rubbing is not something I want (I already have a hole in my right splash guard because of it). Also, being lower will put your car more at risk for damage to the undercarriage, exhaust, header and front lips/bumper. Even backing into a parking space can cause you to ram into the curb with your exhaust tip.
It'd be nice if you can ride in another lower Civic in the area so you can tell what your car can handle in the area you live in.
Oh, and Appearance/Cosmetic has plenty of photos of lowered cars. I'd suggest you go there and find some cars you like and then ask about what tire size and what suspension setup they have.

Oh yeah, and let's not forget that no matter your ride height, someone will almost always have something negative to say about it. Usually you'll be told to lower it more and that it's too high.

dude get you a nice set of 15's and slam that thing. 17's are too big for a civic. lol but i cant hate too much, i had 17's on my 93 hatch for about 3 days. hehe nice car tho man...clean turbo car im guessing (cuz the intercooler from greddy) and not riced out at all. way to go...one less rice burning civic on the road!!!
oh but about the springs...i wouldnt go lower than about 2". my tein s.techs (only like 1.7 inches) makes my car look pretty well sick. lol so get smaller rims and tires and a good set of springs. by looking at your pics, you dont care to pay for the good ****. BOO EBAY!! LOL

Check out the appearance/cosmetic section. There's a slammed car thread. This isn't really the forum to post this kind of thing.

You have to realize that a lot of us hear this all the time too.
Not everyone wants to be slammed or can be slammed.

What size are your tires and what offset are your wheels? The tires look too large, and the offset of your wheels could also be responsible for some rubbing.
This thread shouldn't have even been started there are plenty of "slammed" picture threads all over honda tech and we don't need another one. Learn to use the search function to find what your looking for. Why are you posting pics of your ride in the tech section? Thats what appearance/cosmetic is for. This thread should be locked.
And "slam it as far as you can, if it rubs a little while turning thats okay" is the dumbest piece of advise Ive ever heard. A nub with five posts is trying to tell someone rubbing is okay.

1. If you want to keep those 17'' wheels buy 40 series tires, not 45
2. Offset of those wheels might not be ideal to keep from rubbing, even with 40 series tires
3. Like someone else said people are going to bash you for any ride height. I love my ride height, but others say "slam it!!!" and then you have that red hatch above my post that I say is too low, but whatever.
It's a never ending debate, just like "boost vs. N/A" or "SOHC vs. DOHC" etc. etc.
