on the ticket does it say correctable? you'll have to pay $35-$40 for a ref. to smog and check out your car.

just make your car legal, (put the stock intake back on or a CARB exempted intake, and leave it that way.

then stop committing traffic offences, and you will never have to visit the ref again

sounds like its just a fixing ticket.. jus put a legan intake on and get the ticket signed off by chp.. exhaust u can change and get it signed off too unless u wanna take it to get it sound tested.. once i got pulled over and asked the cop bout gettin it sound tested and he told me u can do that but chances are u will still get a ticket becuz we dnt knw if u modified anything since u had it tested.. but iono

What exactly does your ticket say? Not your translation but whats the VC number they put on there? Did he give you a ticket for the intake, did he pop the hood and take pictures? You might not have to get smogged and you might just need to see a CHP for the correction.

It doesn't suck. Don't skimp out and not get a C.A.R.B ready intake and you will be 100% good to go.

Heres the help for a ref:

GEt everything visually sound; nothing standing out as "illegal".

Make everything he can easily check legit. end of story; if that means borrowing an OEM intake, do it.

Lastly: You only need to tell them you got a sound violation when you go in to have it checked; it is not standard practice to smog a vehicle for this; as smog does NOT require a muffler to pass a test. After you get checked; ask for an offical document stating your car's reading and that the system is compliant. Upon request, they have to issue you one for future stops (to show the officer when u get pulled over).

When I get exhaust installed on my car; I go straight to the CHP and have it sound checked (so if there is an issue, the shop can fix it then and there). At this point, the exhaust is the quietest it will be; so that way; when it breaks in, and it gets louder, you already have something ststing that is it compliant, and they can not charge you for it.
