Default overheat and no heat

anyone know what this could be? i went to let my car warm up and came back and it was starting to over heat and was blowing out cold air. i changed the thermostat thinking that was the problem and its still the exact same. any things i can check to see what it is?

Your radiator might be clogged. Chances are if it's clogged, something else may be clogged as well.

I would bite the bullet and get a new radiator at least. If its clogged to the point where you have no heat, flushing it would be a waste of $$$.

Im going to assume that you let your car warm up in the driveway? Did the fan activate at this time?

If you put the vent setting on non-recirculate does hot air flow through when you are moving?

get a new radiator and bring it to a radiator shop that can pressure flush it so all the **** will come out. and in the future, drain and fill your coolant every 36K miles

you should let your car idle for 10 to 15 min to see if the fan activate...keep your eye on the temp gauge to see when the fan goes off...if doesn't activate change the fan or fuses...

either your fan isnt going on or you could have a leak in one of your radiator hoses...you should just get a new radiator but first check your hoses

Could only be a few things. Water pump bad, Clogged system, stuck thermostat or you need coolant.

So if the fan never turns on, start by fixing that problem...though in the middle of winter, it's not AS likely to overheat. Could be the fan controller; I believe that it's in the head.
