06 civic si needs a new strut

06 civic si needs a new strut
Had my car brought in today wiht 36,400 on the clock becuase of a suspension knock. They will be giving me a new strut. Seems kinda weird this would go out so early, has anyone else had problems with this.?

i have under 6k when they put in new front struts/springs/top hats on both sides cause of the knock...and i soon as i left the dealership i hit a bump and still got the same knock...
it's not the struts, im guessing it would be a bushing in the upper or lower control arm...
