With all of the complaining that I did about the damage that my car took from losing my brakes, it turns out that I caught a very lucky break. The trip through the gravel apparently damaged my timing belt - A LOT! Keep in mind that after that trip through the gravel I did two more races and drove home on that bad belt. Luckily it didn't let go, or I would be looking for a new engine right about now!

It sounds as if Karl has been nowhere near your car isnce the gravel incident. If he had been I am sure the belt would have snapped.
