i want to put either k20r or type s motor in my ep3 but am a little low on funds. would i be able to drop in the motor only an switch out the ecu, but keep the stock 5 speed trans?

 

You can keep the 5-speed, although realistically you're gonna benefit ENORMOUSLY from the shorter ratios (and LSD in the K20A) versus your stock 5-speed.

You will definitely need to change the ECU. Maybe you should consider the addition of a K20A2 head if you're not pissing money.

thanx that was fast and yea i realized that im in the wrong forum. oh and my friend has an lsd diff and a better final drive that he bought for his ep3 right b4 it got stolen so that will help a little
