Remote start turns off after starting up. help!
So after a while I've been thinking getting my remote start to work. The thing is I did an engine swap a year ago and also changed from auto to manual. Yesterday I accidently pushed the remote start button and it started but died instantly. I was wondering why it's doing this, all wires are connected except for 1 wire that went to the distributor, the blue dizzy wire which I tihnk is power for the dizzy, not sure though. I'm not sure why it's needed if the car will start without it. It's a viper alarm with remote start and the blue transponder, not exactly sure what make/model I wanna say 791x something and it's in a 1998 integra that's now obd1. So any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

you need to tag the dizzy wire back up. The alarm does not know the car is not running. Its better to go this route then switch the car to 12 volt sence
Sweet ok thx, love the fast reply there. So I just splice into the blue dizzy wire? I think that was the correct wire, is it the dizzy power, ground or tach signal?
the alarm isn't made for a remote start on a manual..
you need to do some work to make sure the alarm knows the car is in neutral, and that the parking brake is on before it starts.

I'm pretty sure the only thing it's worried about is the car being in park, which I don't have to worry about since it already wired up in park so the car will start. It already starts so that's not the problem it's just keeping it going, just gotta wire in the dizzy tech signal. I'm wondering how to splice into the wire and not make it look ghetto, I don't have many electrical tools just some wire, solder, and some basic tools. Any ideas? Also any ideas on how to get it to only start while in neutral, I almost never (99.9%) leave my car in gear cause my parking break works very well it's just I'd like it a bit more reassurance, so having it only start while in neutral would be nice, any ideas on that? Thanks.
Tap in the wire to the tack signal and loom the wire to make it look factory......also since its a manual just hooking up the tach wire isnt gonna make it start. You would also have to bypass the clutch switch because the car has to see that the clutch is in for the starter to kick in. For this you would need to relay the clutch to the starter so that when the clutch is pressed in it will send a signal out to the starter showing voltage and allow the starter to start the car up.......

Sigh... I thought I've said a couple times now that the car will crank over and start, but as soon as it's started it turns off. Plus the car will start without the clutch pushed in.... BECAUSE it used to be an automatic it doesnt' have the relay for the clutch switches, instead it has the relay for the automatic switches that's why I had to wire it up to make it think it's in park to allow power to the starter in the first place, so I don't have to worry about wiring up any extra clutch switches that I know of, but thanks about the wire tapping part.
As mentioned, reconnect the remote starts tach signal lead, it can be done at the blue lead at the dizzy or at the tach test connector, [blue lead at 2pin plug, drivers side firewall, engine bay side].
