He'll be lucky if he doesn't blow the welds on the intake!
For the love of God, my EM1 has 60s on it (instead of the factory 55) and they look beefy on the car. I can't imagine how bad a 60 would look on a '92 hatchback. And that model is supposed to be a 50, right? That's almost an inch more in overall diameter. Also, your speedometer reading is going to be inaccurate.

No, it will not be good. It will be 2" too large in diameter, throwing off your speedometer, odometer, and effective gearing by 9%. You'll also likely run into clearance issues, and you won't be gaining any traction by switching to them.
The correct size for your car would be 195/50-15. Focus on selecting a high-performance tire in that size, rather than installing random tires that are incorrectly sized.

And the addition of significant rotating mass doesn't help either.
Just curious, how did you conclude 2 inches? Correct me if I'm wrong, 60 mm is 10 mm greater than 50 mm, times the height of 2 sidewalls would be a 20 mm increase, out of 1 inch (25.4 mm), would be roughly 4/5", not 2".

The appropriate 15" tire size for a '92 Civic hatchback would be 195/50-15.
195mm width x 50% aspect ratio = 97.5mm sidewall height. Multiply that times two, convert to inches, and add the 15" wheel size, and you arrive at 22.68" total diameter.
205mm width x 60% aspect ratio = 123mm sidewall height. Multiply that times two, convert to inches, and add the 15" wheel size, and you arrive at 24.68" total diameter.
The overall difference in diameter between the two is 2 inches.
Here's a pretty useful online tire size calculator: http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

Actually, the proper size for a 15" wheel on a 92-95 Civic is a 195/55/50 or a 205/50/15.
The stock size is 185/65/14. A 195/50/15 would be over a 3% discrepancy in diameter.

Tire Rack lists the stock size for a 1992 Civic Si hatchback as 185/60-14, and the 1992 Civic DX hatchback as 175/70-13, making the proper 15" tire size 195/50-15.
The Civic hatchback did not move to the larger size until the 6th generation.

The site I'm using must have suspect information then. I was using the stock sizing included in the tire calculator.

What site are you referencing?
Tire Rack and Discount Tire both seem to indicate that the larger sizing didn't appear until the 6th generation, though they differ slightly as to what point in the generation it was instituted.

I was using 1010Tire, a Canadian company similar to Tire Rack or Discount. I use that calculator instead of the Miata one because it allows for multiple tire comparisons.
