more pics of my stripped to da bone hatch project
so i have gotten a little more acomplished on the ol 88 today, but i still dont know what i am going to do in the propulsion department.
got a new toy!!! a harbor freight bead roller, for sixty bucks it does an awesome job, ya just gotta have some one sober follow a sharpie line or its gunna be crooked as hell, cause it does not have any kind of guide on it

did my door panels and got to usethe bead roller, i think they turned out okay. still dont know if i am gunna paint all the white alumminum or leave it alone, cause as it is it has a very nice powdercoat finish and is smoother than any paint i have ever seen.

did the center console but i think i am gunna redo it, it has too many gauge openings and i decided to make room for a cd player since i am still gunna street drive it. and it wound up too close to the shifter.

designed some covers to cover the opening around the window crank and cut them out on the cnc router. gotta sandblast and powder coat them, if anyone needs some parts like this made or engraved shoot me a pm or an email at metal-concepts@hotmail.com, i am working on designing some pedals, footrest and some cool underhood bling too.

check it out

probably gunna cut the whole floor out and do alumminum after the cage is in but if i dont cut the floor out does anyone know any easier way to get all the sound deadening crap out?

yeah i know, i already re made the center console, also got rid of the H.M.C, thought it would look nice but it turned out kind of tacky.

Lol I was looking at the picture and was wondering the same thing. You caught on before I could say something.
When I did my sound deadener I used a chisel and a hammer. And then I sanded all the remainder down and primered/painted it. Came out nice. Then I sold the car lol. I admit though, if I hadn't been bored out of my mind I never would have done it

also what series ecu needs to be run a d16y8? i pulled a junk yard motor but the ecu was gone? and who knows how to run an electric speedo on one of these cars, cause i sure as hell dont have a stock dash anynmore?
got a few more pics, started working on the motor a little, not sure what the shadow was on my camera, i think the shutter was not opening all the way.
got the head milled and cleaned, no port and polish yet. not sure how extreme i am gunna go.

got the crank worked on and cleaned, now its ready for a set of eagle rods.

powdercoated the valvr cover, but its gotten little dusty since.

got one of those vtec solenoid covers , thought it looked cool, so i bought it.

i am still debating on using the stock valves or not, they are all in very good condition and none of them are bent, i am gunna use skunk 2 valvetrain components, but i dont know if i should use sk2 valves too, is it going to be a huge advantage over the stock valves? or should i get them just because they are probably stronger? let me know what ya think.

The gauge cluster with electronic speedo is extremely easy to hook up. You just need to ditch the cable driven vehicle speed sensor (vss) and get one from an obd1 or obd2 b-series equipped car. The plug for the electronic vss only has 3 wires. One ground, one goes to the cluster and ecu for speed signal, and the other is a +12v source. Also, if you are going for NA which I think you are, some valves are flat-faced to help raise compression.

got somemore pics of the dash for the ones who were asking, and i got a little more work done on the car today. i made the frame for my seat, i orginally was only going to do one seat but now i think i am goin to go with a passenger seat as well. the seat does have a nice thick pad and is pretty cofortable for a metal seat, and they are nice and cheap compared to a nice bucket seat.

and i got a header from my friend for 20 bucks, i know its a cheap ebay header and its bolted up to a single cam, but i will have to work unitil i have the money to build a B series the way i really want to.

got some more work done on my car, i ordered an engine kit with dome tops and got the rods shot peened,

and after i got it all together i decided to paint it, definately should have done that before assembly, there would have been alot less masking tape involved

i also got my shifter and shift **** in, the shift **** is pretty cool its actually real carbon fiber, not the fake crap.

this giant bucket of carb cleaner works miracles!

cleaned and painted some parts

put in some studs for the valve cover nuts

COMPLETE!

painted the interior, but then its sat in the rain for a day and got filthy.

a pic of the shop and one of our cars we just finished
