of course I didn't admit it here then, when I had it, but I never had an alarm on my R, didn't lock the doors most of the time, and quite often left the windows down or cracked. No i don't live in the woods, but in Houston. for 2 whole years, i got away w/it I'd say the worst thing that ever happened was it got egged once, grrr
just thought I'd share that, it was useless i know

I have had my R 2 1/2 years in the Bay Area and do not have an alarm.

It should be clear by now that there is absolutely no point in having one - the alarm gets stolen with the car and you are out even more money.

An alarm/LoJack etc. may make you feel all fuzzy inside but so will a bottle of wine and the wine will generally cost a lot less.

 

hehe, the R was sold long ago, besides, if people want it, they'll get it, reguardless, i've read enought posts here to know that

I hate car alarms. If a thief wants the car, he's going to get it, period.

 

but it opens the door for you

 

Mine sits on the street every night.
And the alarm that came with the car is not always in the mood to accept signals from the fob/controller!
