The paint shop wanted 3 weeks to schedule this job, but mobile came out and did it next day, with fantastic results.

Unsure about where you guys are, but this isnt something new. Here in MN, there's lots of small/big companies that do the same thing for a good price. You dont always have to take your car to the bodyshop for good paint work
I believe I saw a van on the highway advertising a "mobile" vehicle painting company. Of course, I have never seen any of their work so I really don't know what to think of it.

Their prices are fair, if you're interested in what I paid send me a PM, they compared favorably with other shops I called.

Yes, I was somewhat skeptical at first, but the result was very good

You can see in the picture they masked off the entire car, except the panel they were painting; the amount of fumes from the paint was minimal, the spray gun is powered by compressed air, and the painter used short paint strokes - my other car was under a cover, so no risk of overspray... also, the direction of the 'cloud' seemed to be somewhat straight up, rather than drifting across, if this makes sense.

The main thing I do not like about that mobile work is that it is in a uncontrolled environment. Its hard, if not impossible to get paint perfectly nib free in good both let alone out in the open like that and you can only wetsand some nibs out to an extent. Did they do any buffing? I can see in the last pic there are some rotary swirls all over the door. Is that from them?
