Default something let go, i need some help!

i was driving slow in second gear and i go to take a right turn and all of a sudden my wheel started to jerk and spin really fast then my car just slumped to the left. so i get out to see what happened and my drivers side front tire is totally cocked to the left and i smell grease. so im looking around to see if anything broke but all i could find were some bearings i think, they were covered in grease so i just put them in a bag i had.
Heres a few pics i took just now to see what going on here, looks like my ball joint went, can anyone confirm this?

wiggle the ball joint around, if it feels loose at all, then replace it... in fact you need a new rubber boot, so i would just replace the whole joint anyway, they're pretty cheap.

did the lower control arm disconnect like that when you were driving? it looks like the nut stripped the threads right off the end? pics are kinda fuzzy

haha same **** happened to me. the lower ball joint castle nut fell off cause there was no cotter pin in there. those other three things are the bearings inside your axle. you need a new axles and castle nut and hopefull the threads on the ball joint are saveable.

those bearings are for the cv joint. and I say replace the lower ball joint and check the other ones just to be safe.

the cv joint is the end parts of your axle. what probably happened is the ball joint seperated wicht pulled out the axle or actually ripped the boot then they fell off. just get a new axle.

The inner joint is the bulky looking peice on the end of the axle shaft that plugs into the trans. The bearings fell out because the shaft pulled out when your steering knuckle decided to disconnet from the lower control arm. If the bearings are still good, I would just clean them up and reassemble the inner joint.

However, I would get a new ball joint

Plus, make sure you got something to lock the bolt. It was ghetto, but I had to use a damn paperclip once!

well the bearings look good to me but ill just get another axle instead of rebuilding it, however i cant say much for the castle nut or the ball joint. the castle nut is striped bad.

save the frustration with rebuilding the axle yourself, just use it as a core and trade it in for a rebuit one, and replace the lower ball joint and castle nut and get a new pin too.

don't be stupid by being cheap, it isn't worth it in the long run. think about the safety of yourself, your passengers and others on the road.

yep... definitely replace the ball joint... we had ours go at 65 mph... the results weren't pretty... car is probably no good anymore. Not worth it for the cost of the part
