Default Lowering stock seat position... HELP...

As some of you know, I'm on the taller side, and being 6'6" tall, has some draw backs when you're into Hondas. I'm getting tired of this beat up Sparco seat, and I'm just trying to clean the caR up a bit, and get it back to stock looking for a while.

What I'm trying to do, I just need to lower the seat position of my stock seat, about 2" or so, and back equally as much if at all possible. Chris (RStoR) ran the idea by me of using Del Sol sliders, does anyone know if this would work well?

Any input is welcome.

Are you firm on keeping your current seat? I actually put in a diff seat for track and AutoX for the very same reason you are asking about. I had to find a side mounted seat to alleviate this problem.

Heres a pic from RTW showing both of us. Im 6'1". Look how much shorter I appear than you. I look like Im 12.

Cory - Who also feels like a little kid in his seats!

Shawn that's mounted up on a Mugen Rail correct? If so mount the forward holes in the upper position and the rear holes in the low if you haven't tried it already.

Jordan I don't think there will be anything to help you with moving the seat further back unless you completely drill new holes through the floor board, and I don't see that happening. As far as lower seat rails, there are all kinds of rails that will get that job accomplished. On the Del Sol rails, I'm not sure, might work, and I know the Del Sol seats are lower then ours in general, but I'm not sure about the seat rails actually being lower.

Correct. I have them in the lowest settings on the rails.

I've never seen that picture before Shawn... But DAMN, you're sitting low.

As for me keeping my stock seats... I'm broke as hell this time of year, I'm going with SRDs when money starts coming in, and there seems to be a good aftermarket support for lowering those seats. But in the mean while, I need to get my seat lower, somehow.

It's not so much an issue of me sitting back more, just sitting lower. If I could get 2" lower, I think I'd be fine with a 320mm steering wheel. I just hate not being able to get my legs under my steering wheel.

What kind of rails for the USDM seat exist? I've never seen any.

Shawn, what I'm saying is, put the forward holes in the upper mounting holes, and leave the rears in the lower, it'll be a lot more comfortable for you. Puts a small tilt on the seat.

Also, is there a really dished steering wheel on the cheaper side? That would free up some leg room too.

It may be possible to remove the lower pan from a DelSol seat and transfer it to your stock seat. Use the foam/fabric from the Integra seat and transfer the whole lower setup. This should net you about 1.5 inches or so.

I have my seat set up the way Cory suggested...middle hole in the front, lower in the rear. I'm 6'1", and my shoulders barely touch the window line. With my helmet on I have almost three inches. Before that, using bottom mounted seats, I had to keep the sunroof shade open and my head tilted,

^ I'm tall in my legs, so that's not an issue for me luckily.

Well, that may be tough to deal with. I would try to find one of the older Personal dished wheels and a longer hub, that way you can push the seat all the way back. My legs are long, with big feet.....so I get what you're saying. Sometime I feel like I can heel the brake, and toe the defroster switch, lol

One of the Nardi's would probably work for what you want out of a wheel. They have some with a rather deep dish (mmm pizza) on them and are relatively inexpensive. $200ish.

If you can or know someone who can work with metal you can pretty easily alter the side pieces on the stock rails and make something that will lower the seat a bit. I was looking into doing this and it would not be difficult.

I've now got a Cobra hard shell race seat mounted so low I can't even fit my little finger under it and its perfect for me. 6'4 and most of my height is in my legs also. It's more comfy than any stock seat and doesn't hinder the usability of the car at all. my head is just barely above the door sill and I look rather funny driving it though.

Meh. Its seems to me that it would be much, much easier to just pm hung or call up Kingmotorsports and get yourself one of those fine Mugen products sent right to your door. Problem solved, OEM seat preserved.
