hey guys, Im installing a JDM f20c into my toyota ae86, running stock cluster, and stock ecu, stock loom... a few guys telling me the ecu wont run without the emissions hooked uP?
is this the case?, ive had a quick look at it, and can only see a 12v running to the pump and the air routes from a valve on the intake mani, and routes back into the intake pipe before the thottle body! and a small vaccum hose to the egr solenoid?
surely there must be a way to ditch the whole system and still run stock ecu?
ive ditch egr systems on h22as for years.. and they stil run perfect, besides the solid check light after a while
had a talk to mase (tuning) and he said i shuld be able to ditch it?
help!

You can ditch it. When I did my turbo install I had to ditch the setup so I could fit in my intercooler piping. I also had to start the car with the OEM ECU to make sure the car would start/run since my basemap at the time for the AEM EMS was bogus and wouldn't start the car.
