Default 3rd Brake Light Removal

I have a 99 Accord and I would like to know how to remove the 3rd brake light (or to be more specific, the black piece that goes around the brake light). It is a tight spot back there and there is some debris that has gotten behind the brake light. Any help would be great!

If I'm not mistaken. There are 2x 10mm nut holding the 3rd brake light down inside the trunk area. They should be side by side. It might be hard to reach, but i know they are. Remove the 2 nuts. and remove the 3rd brake light front inside the car.

Thanks The-Kid, I will try that. And yes, it is the light behind the backseat.

There are no screws. It's held in by clips. Open the trunk, and look for 4 clips sticking through. Push 2 of those out of the way to release, and push up on the light.

Well IDK. it might be different on the 6th gen Accords. Because the lamps are not as long as the 5th gens. I will check too on my 01 Accord. Sorry if I gave the wrong info. I usually work on my 96 more often.
