Default good ignition for turbo set up

What are you guys currently using for ignitions on 400+ hp turbo b series and how is it working for you?

Please let me know. My car is being stored right now, but over the winter I need to consider a different route for ignition. Currently using MSD Digital 6. Not sure if it's the MSD or distributor that's been giving me problems.

Thanks.

OEM. Period.

I ran an MSD 6AL, and had problems from day one. Pulled the whole damn thing, put the stock coil back in and it ran like a dream.

OP: when was the last time you changed your plugs/ cap and rotor ? ive seen this stuff being used for far too long and cause problems... maybe its just time for some new stuff.

we run M&W ign on the race hatch (no problems @ 800 hp)

we run MSD on the race coupe ( no problems @ 800 hp)

i ran stock ign on 450hp street car and never a problem.

At 400whp a good condition stock dist. should be more than sufficient. When you start to get over 500whp and are having to run ridiculous plug gaps to prevent misfire (less than .020") then you really should look into a good ign. system. We use M&W on all our high hp builds, including my race car at over 900whp. The Pro 10 kit also allows you to bypass the oem ignitor which is a common point of failure.

Thanks for the posts guys. I might have to either get a new distributor or rebuild mine. This past fall, my coil and rotor went out on me. The rotor was actually shredded. Not sure how that happened. I'm asumming that a new OEM Honda Coil and rotor should do the trick right? Let me know if you guys think otherwise.

Thanks again.
