Default 2 Short resonators VS. 1 long resonator. dum dum dum....

So im going to do my exhaust very soon and was wondering if you guys can help out. Im going to get some Hytech replica headers for my B-series PNP B16 head, 1.8L GSR block, 11.5:1 comp, BC III+ cams, VS 3" shortram. Heres the run down:

1-flex pipie and the end of the header flange.
2-2.5" piping (mandrel most likely) ive heard crush-bend restricts VERY minimally.
3-Dynomax Super turbo (2.5" in/out)
4-And either a big resonator (22") or two smaller ones (maybe 2x14'_
whatever will make the sound drown out.
I have read up on resonators and how they dont effect performance just change the outpu note. So what do you guys suggest???
1 long one or 2 shorter ones???

Kepp in mind that I would like (if possible) 2 or whatever will drown the noise more.
thanks

the tuning of resonitors is complex, it's not as simple as if two shorter ones will quiet it down more than one larger one.
If you take out the variables such as pulse size, shape, the force behind it, the shape and direction of the pipe feeding the resonator, the backpressure behind it and about fifty other factors that are involved...

The 14" will reduce engine noise at a certain RPM, two will reduce it slighty more. The 24" will reduce the noise at a different RPM.
BUT, due to harmonics they may reduce the same RPM 's noise but in different levels.

confused yet? Yah me too. I gave up trying to figure out the math of it and jsut played around with different lengths till I was happy.

From what I can tell with my setup, around the 14-16" length helps ~4500 RPM highway cruising a lot. If you're aiming for a lower RPM will require a longer resonator.

Personally I run a 14" and a 18" along with a twin loop muffler, but I'm getting old and noise isn't my thing.

mandrel vs crush - mandrel is always better, crush reduces the internal size of the pipe. IE adds restriction.

good input man. Yeah i dont like the noise, since the car insulation isnt too good and my stereo system sucks, I would like cabin noise as quiet as possible. What car was your piping set-up in??? I think I will go that route (14" and 18") my question is:

How far from the flex-pipe (10") should the first 14" resonator go, and from there how far back should the 2nd resonator (18") be located???
Pics of piping for DC; which i might buy if its still available for $129

I'd leave the existing resonator in place. And install the 14" somewhere in front of it.

Mine is a 2.25" system in an EG hatch, with the 14" in the typical cat location (right behind the flex pipe) and the 18" where the piping pics you showed has the resonator. (looks a lot like the 18" I have in mine, but it may be a 20-24" on that piping)
