Default valvecover color codes

hey i was always confused about what the valvecover colors stood for as far as what type of engine is in the car.

can anyone tell me?

i think red was usdm h22's and blue was EURO?

isnt red on the type s motors. such as the jdmh22a, and blue for the euro. and good old faded black for the usdms..
?

Any regular old jdm or usdm h22a/a1/a4 is black

the f20b, and the h23a vtec are blue

the type s is red

didnt you know you can make your regular h22 a type S just by putting a red cover on it.

I have a H22ax cause my cover is the ilver metalic cover. The h22ax's main feature is the vtec wont engauge period. Im thinking of switch to the type s cover so i can have Vtec.

the 97 and up Prelude are all "SI" unless you have the "SH"

No, don't spread false information. In the USDM there was 'base' and 'SH'.

never go by the color.. read the block. ppl paint valve covers all the time. what's the big deal w/ red valve covers anyway.. woo hoo mine's JdM rEd y0! i like mine black. though i wouldn't mine painting mine pearl white like mykizisms'

Maybe you meant to say ALL 92-96 Preludes are Si's?
A non-SH Prelude is JUST a Prelude!

Hey im new to hondatech here and got this damned salvaged lude with a craptronic auto trans in it with blk fluid lol gona do a 5speed swap and have no clue how to does anyone have any helpfull info and help would be much much appreciated thanks!
