Fidanza flywheel thinner than oem?
Just swapped out flywheel on my 89 dx hatch with stock tranny to fidanza aluminum I got on ebay. The two flywheels are different widths. Fidanza is 1/2 inch thinner will it work?
odd.. doing the exact same thing today... until i messed up my mounting bolts.. what are you torquing them to??
and the flywheel is thinner, but it has a bulge where it mounts to the crank.. overall height is still the same....

the flywheel must be the same distance from the crank to where the input shaft enters the clutch and the tip rests on the pilot bearing. If the flywheel is physically thinner, there should be a flange or spacer to keep it the same distance as the OEM flywheel. If it is closer to the crank, or further, it will not work.
