Default Under 1/2 tank = bad????????

I was just wondering why some people say it is bad to drive their turbo'd car with under a half tank of gas.

Because some people don't remember to look at their tank and they just go driving....then they decide to make a pull. Except now they only have like fumes left in the tank and then the motor leans out and BOOM

You're completely fine to drive with less than a 1/2 tank if you just keep your eye on it. Generally I stop screwing when I get to 1/4 tank and from then on I'm really easy on the gas.

Since a civic tank doesnt hold a lot and if you have less than 1/4 tank then you probably only have a couple of gallons left and you decide to make a full throttle pull your fuel could pool to the back of the tank leaving the pump/fuel pick up sucking air.

this = lean = boom

I ran all my turbo cars down to a 1/8th of a tank or sometimes less with no problems. Your pump will pick up fuel up until the point you are out of gas, that is nowhere near a 1/2, 1/4, or 1/8th of a tank even making a hard pull.

This goes with tuning, it's easy to get your car a proper tune, it's easy to keep enough gas in your car. There has been plenty of people that have lost thousands from low gas, why risk it.

isn't there a way to shut the motor off before you get detonation? like a sensor that recognizes low fuel pressure/ lean air fuel mixture and shuts the engine off?
