At idle it should be 30-37 psi. With the vacuum line on the FPR disconnected it should be at 40-47 psi. This is on a stock motor Im not sure how much if any it would change with bolt ons.

With a fuel pressure regulator.

At idle, mine sits at 40psi.

Okay so say for instance I bought the AEM FUEL pressure regulator, would I also need a fuel pressure gauge as well or would the regulator tell me what the pressure is?<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by K-Spec &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">

u need a gauge.

the only times you need to change fuel pressure is when your injectors are running too high of a duty cycle or when you are running big injectors.

Well I guess I would have to take a guess that my fuel pressure is running to high. I can smell fumes a whole lot. Now I have another thread about how to quick fix it, and I assumed some new fuel injectors would clear the issue up.

After searching and reading threads, Ive come to the concluison that new injectors wont nessarilly fix the problem.

My next future upgrade to the car should be the fuel system so as to clear up the running rich. It would include the following. Please chime in and tell me that really isnt needed.
-AEM Fuel Pressure regulator
-AEM Fuel Rail
-Fuel Pressure gauge.
-OEM Fuel injectors

Also would running too rich trip the O2 sensor? It would be a code 1 on OBD1.

you dont need the fuel rail unless you are just wanting to spend money. Dont need to buy new injectors. If you want, take them off and have them cleaned and flow tested.

If your FPR is stock, then your fuel pressure is fine.

Okay so pretty much out of that whole list All I really need is a FP gauge.

Is there a OEM FPR already on my car? What would cause the Fuel injectors to run a higher duty, thats where the ECU comes in right?

in a nut shell, more power = higher duty cycle (theres more to it, you can do your own research on it), higher duty cycle = injectors working harder

every car has some sort of regulator, they just arent adjustable from the factory.

you are still stock. You havent done anything that would warrant the need to change the fuel pressure.

i run mine at 45psi (stock) and i have cams and many other performance modifications.

buy an aftermarket adjustible FPR. Some even come with a pressure dial that displays your fuel pressure.

Get a good brand like AEM or equivelent. (I don't know if AEM sells them with the pressure guage built in though??)

Don't go above factory fp. Around 40 is fine(depending if your testing with a vacuum)
