Hi, i have a 2000 integra LS. My problem is my trunk doesnt lock. i just got this car recently and found out that there wasnt a trunk release lever on the driver side. but a friend told me that there's a trunk release lever under my trunk lip. so then while i was parking my car today i though i try it out, and yes the lever works. so then i stuck my key in the trunk keyhole and turnd it left to lock it because turning it right would open it instead. but then once i did that, i was still able to open my trunk by useing the release lever my friend told me about.

PLEASE HELP, i park my car on the streets and im scared that someone might steal my car, even with my club.

do you think it might be because of my alarm thats broken.

 

Take off the trim piece in the trunk that covers the latch and lock mechanism. Inspect the linkage or cables going from the lock to the latch. Insert the key and turn it back and forth and inspect the operation.

 

i have an 01 had the same problem.. my lever gets stuck all the way to the left sometimes and it won't latch or lock. check that first if you already haven't. or do what ^^ said.
