Its low 50 in the morning going to work so I wear my full track gear that's the best I can do against coldnest hahaha I even ride tuck in to avoid the cold breeze
Latex gloves under your regular gloves helps a little bit to keep out the winter's cold. I've used winter gloves before, and they help keep your hands warmer, but it takes some getting used to your bike's controls.
50 degrees.. cold? I still wore my mesh when it was 50.
I rode untill it got under about 25 in the morning. Under Armor, Thinsulate gloves, Long Johns, and somtimes head 'condom' for snowmobiling

It just snowed here for the first time last week. Now there's ice too
Anyway, I've been wearing a long sleeved shirt and a heavy sweater under my mesh jacket which has a liner, I wear my jeans under my mesh pants, which also have a liner. I wear a Balaclava under my helmet, and a thin pair of gloves under my leather (unventilated) gauntlets.

40 degree is a norm for you? last summer, we had 112 degree days, and 90 degree nights.. 50 is ******* cold for socal.
i wore a textile jacket all summer, and now the temps are dropping, im also looking for a new setup.. something i can dedicate to winter. i dont' want to drop a ton of money, but i just can't find the right leather jacket. i might just go with a all black firstgear jacket or something.. just to cut down on the funds.

Stick with textile and get something with a full liner and no vents - it will keep the wind out, and heat in better.

i know what you mean it's just about 50 in the mornings in sac, i use those hand warmers in my gloves. it helps..

Commuting sucks but once you start moving around on the bike and working it at a good pace you heat up. Same deal at the track except you're pushing harder and heat up faster.
