Default 2000 civic si need advice on car in so cal URGENT!!!

I hydrolocked my car yesterday in orange county. I already tried to pull the wires and turn it and it spit up some water. i let it dry overnight and I bought new plugs and it still won't start. What would be the best route for me to go? Do you know any good shops I can take my car in orange county? I don't want a jdm block because of smog issues. Can my motor be fixed? Do I need to swap the motor? Where can I go to get a 2000 or newer block? Any help would be appreciated I am on strict time table.

Please post any prices for any work you recommend. Thank you

Change the oil.

I would change it when it's hot.

Try again.

it depends what RPM you hydrolocked your car at. even if it was low RPMs there is a chance your motor is toast. my buddies EM1 got hydrolocked we took the sparkplugs out turned over the motor to shoot water out, bought this hand pump/gas syphon thing and took out the rest of the water. did an oil change and bought new spark plugs and wires... it started up but ran shitty.

It really depends on how much water you took up. But what i would do is pull the head, if theres a puddle your pretty much screwed, but if its just damp get everything cleaned, have the valves checked to see if any are bent, have everything cleaned and you should be good. But again, totally depends on how much water you sucked up.

no i didnt see it it was pounding so hard that my wipers were on full blast and I ran into it. I didn't see it. No shop recommendations anybody? I don't want a fast honda. I was just driving it stock. That's why I don't want it (jdm motor). What part would I need? can I just buy another short block? I have been looking for a brand new one on some online sites. Am I looking to buy the whole engine assembly as its called on all the honda oem parts websites? I actually wouldn't mind buying a b18 as long as it won't give me problems with smog. It depends on the cost. If I can I would actually just prefer to rebuild if I could.

well in that case a b16a2 block could be difficult to find and pricey not to mention in socal you got to be carefull not to buy a stolen one..

the only damage that should come from hydrolocking is a hole in the piston or block, or a bent rod, and then everything else that can come from bending a rod, lol. If it's turning over smoothly, then nothing should be binding. im suprised it wont run at all though. even with a hole in one piston, it should still run on 3 cyl. maybe something got wet? dizzy? are you getting spark and fuel? these are things you need to check before assuming you need to rebuild. Is it even turning over? does it sound normal when cranking? It would suck to rebuild it and then it still wont start. I would do all you can do to get it running, then you should know quickly if the motor is toast.
