Default Front Sway Bars

Is the factory 26mm front sway bar hollow? Any recommendations for an upgrade for a street only car with a neuspeed rear sway bar?

I think you're thinking of the rear sway bar.

For a street car I'd leave the front sway bar alone or if anything decrease the size of it. Then up the size of the rear bar to 19mm or 22mm depending on how you want the car to handle.

correct me if i'm wrong, but the front bar is 25mm, and yes, it is hollow.

i'm not sure what other brands makes front swaybars for our cars, but Neuspeed for sure make one thats 27mm and is a solid piece.

i personally have the neuspeed 27mm front swaybar and a rsx-r 22mm rear bar. the car handles very neutral. for street use, you probably could just stick with the stock front, but i do some road racing every summer.

i thought someone would post this but upgrading the front sway bar on a FWD car is pretty useless if not dangerous IMO. the reason you wanted a rear sway was to increase oversteer correct? so if you got a larger front sway, what would you think it would increase? UNDERSTEER. youd basically cancel out all the gains you got from your rear sway bar if not add more UNDERSTEER to your FWD car.

Yeah , I know about sway bar theories, but the facts and reality are that changing from the factory 13mm rear bar to a neuspeed 22mm rear bar did not really make much of a difference in cornering. I even removed the rear bar and drove around for 4-5 days with no rear bar at all to feel the difference. The car still has too much lean in the front when taking turns. The front bar is a factory 26mm bar but is it hollow? If I upgrade to a 27mm ST or a progress front sway bar is it going to make a significant difference? The car is a 2003 hybrid with different sway bars than a lx , ex or si.

the car will have lean reguardless of what kind of sway you have bc your on a stock suspension. as for it being hollow, i have no idea but if it is and you get a solid one thats even bigger, it'll make a difference. in order for you to get rid of the body roll, drop it....literally.

yes, you should get new endlinks if you plan to put on the 22 because i have heard people's endlinks breaking. if you get the 19mm sway you should be fine
