Another rose, trying to help play them out
Being recently married and broke, I figured it would be nice to make the wife a gift for Christmas. Pictures in the order that I did things:
Rip apart rose, make templates, trace onto metal, cut metal and form:

Do this for all petals:

Spend a ton of time getting the fitment/alignment of all the petals right, weld together:

Mask off stem and paint:

Weld on 5 pointed thing and leaves:

Put a few coats of clear coat on:

The final product:

Few final notes, I used 26 gage (read: .0179") sheetmetal for the petals because I cut them all with tin snips. All welding done with a Lincoln MIG with gas shielding.
Enjoy,

Nice looking rose. Wish i could have find some 26 gauge. I only had some 22 laying around.
I had made a rose about 2 weeks ago. but only took pictures on my phone and already gave it away to a friend for her birthday. I will be making my own thread once i can download my pictures. Yes to playing out the roses haha.

Yeah I took my color scheme from your old post. Thanks for the good idea.
I probably spent more time painting and sanding then I did actually forming and welding. The clear coat I used was not cooperating.
