Default Strongest D Series Trans?

Ive searched, but it wont give me any results...

anyway, I'm doing to turbo my d16a1 and I was wondering what would be the best trans to mate to it.

Well I don't know about strength but the ex/si trannys have the shortest gears available for a d-series.

have gearspeed build you a 92-95 ex si tranny and you will never have to worry about it again. I've got a sohc that makes just shy of 300 and have blown out 2nd gear in the 92-95 dx trans twice in a week and in a 96-00 ex

What mounts do you plan on using? This isn't the same engine as the D16A6 you know

get a 96-00 ex trans. its the same gear ratios as the 92-95, but had stronger shift forks. the 92-95's are aluminum and break easily.

yes but when the 92-95 forks break, they break. 96-00 bend and cause more damage than just the forks. Better to go with an earlier EX/Si trans, less damage casued when a fork goes

well when mine broke the both broke, put a 3 inch hole in the side of my trans case, and destroyed both of my shaft bearings. the trans was worthless after that. ill stick with my jasper racing trans. $1500 well spent imo. and before i hear it from everyone i dont care if you think it was a waste of money. after replacing 4 transmissions i got tired of wasting my money on the same junk.

qft.

i had a z6 trans last from sept-nov 06: blew the diff, 2nd, broke the fork
i had a y8 trans last from nov 06-march-07: no second gear, grinded third all day, popped out of gear, eventually blew the diff
some douche sold me a beat dx trans that popped out of second, third, fifth, grinded third and fifth, i eventually broke the fork
i got a mint z6 trans rebuilt by my homie at honda in august of 07-never grinded, never popped out of gear, no noise, then my car was stolen in october
then i got a new eg, put a z6 trans in it and blew it up in 5 days

d series trans FTL.

Beating the hell out of the tranny causes bent forks, lol.
and pop outs are often caused by worn gears that have been rounded off slightly due to excessive grinding. Sometimes misalignment is also the culprit.

I completely agree with 1.5Slowmatic, because that's what Bone has said for years. There isn't a "stronger" tranny, it's just one that won't cause you to throw an ENTIRE trans away instead of just the forks.

Ex/Si is the way to go!

You have the strongest D trans. 5th is seperated from the rest of the gear by a built in brace to the case. Shafts are thick, gears are thick. Has decent ratios too.
