Default Bad piston rings?

My car recently has been having some issues. 2 weeks ago going to work my coolant reservoir got a hole in it (don't ask). Well needless to say the car started to overheat. I started getting lots of white smoke from the exhaust, I figure headgasket. It sounded like a Subaru and ran like crap. It sat at my office untouched until today.

I pulled the head to replace the headgasket and there was some antifreeze in the cylinders, probably from pulling the head but maybe from a bad headgasket. I put the new one on and tightened down, put it all back together. Started the car and it had some more white smoke going but not much. Only problem is it still sounded like Suabaru and ran like crap.

I started to narrow down which cylinder was casuing this and found it to be 3rd. I checked the spark, had spark, checked injectors, had fuel. So we are down to air right? Well I can't see how it would not be getting air so I can assume it is. I would figure it would be a blown ring but with blown rings I would also figure that it wold smoke, and I have none.

I limped the car home on 3 cylinders, we are gonna check compression tomorrow morning and probably change the oil to check for metal (the oil was not milky). So I guess to sum it up I wanted to ask if it was possible to have bad rings and have no smoke along with it, and if not if you have any suggestions I'd be glad to hear them.

Thanks in advance

whens the last time you did any sort of tune up ? Cap, rotor, plugs, wires? may have a clogged injector, or a fouled plug.

good luck

All were replaced about a month ago, and I checked them all again today, even the injectors.

Just to clarify, did you torque the headbolts in the proper order and double torqued *40ftlb, in order, then again at 53ftlb in order* them like you are supposed to?

Accurate torque wrench and a OEM honda gasket?

I just recently replaced my headgasket with a Ebay one, and didn't have a decent torque wrench and I blew the headgasket IMMEDIATLY and had to do it again.

Be sure you are using OEM headgaskets, and OEM specs.
