help with car alarm

Default help with car alarm

I just finished installing my alarm system on my 94 accord, everything is fine except, maybe its not part of the system but when I arm my system, and I open a door from the outside without unlocking it the alarm doesnt go off.....isn't it suppose to trigger the alarm???What connection did i mess up on???

You haven't tapped into the proper door trigger wire...

i checked with my multimeter and when I open the door i get a negative charge on the wire I hooked it up 2 and I believe that's what it's suppose to do

YOU PROBABLY HOOKED IT UP TO THE WRONG WIRE ON THE ALARM BRAIN. FOR NEGATIVE DOOR TRIGGERS WHICH YOUR ACCORD IS YOU NEED TO USE THE GREEN WIRE FROM THE ALARM BRAIN TO HOOK UP TO THE DOOR TRIGGERS. BUT THIS APPLIES TO VIPER AND PYTHON ALARMS......

How long are you waiting after arming before you open the door?
Does your Accord have a delayed dome light, [stays on for a bit after you close the door]? 94

It's working I tink it was because I was opening the door too soon thankyou everyone for your post. :D
